My functional pottery has the same joyous intent as the sculptural pieces providing vessels filled with sustenance for the soul as well as the body. The vessels are lyrical, sometimes whimsical, and sing a celebration of life. In construction of my functional work I use a variety of techniques. I often combine altering the form with applied drawing and glazes. The colorants are usually both under-glazes and a variety of clear, translucent and opaque midrange glazes. The functional pieces are dinner-ware safe. Enjoy the ritual of sharing a meal or a beverage using handmade pottery.
